DIY Candle Roundup

It's already December and when I wake up for school it's still dark and I HATE it. I don't think that we were meant to be waking up before the sun rises. Beside that, it gets dark really fast as well and sometimes, I am not even home from school when it's pitch black. What is better that lighting a candle and enjoying its light? Okay, maybe light a fireplace fire, but besides that... Nothing!

Mirabelle compote

We have a few mirabelle plum trees in our backyard. In July the fruits ripen and we get a whole load of mirabelles. We like to eat them just as is, but because there are so many, we found different ways to use them. The easiest way is to make compote.

Compote is a dessert made of fruit cooked in water with a bit of sugar and spices. I especially like to drink only the liquid and it tastes like fruit tea.

Death by Chocolate Birthday Cake

Our entire family loves chocolate, so it was a no brainer when my sister asked me to make her the Kit Kat cake, but instead of cake with brownies AND frost it with ganache AND decorate with Maltesers, Smarties and M&M's. In the end, the cake turned out great and everybody loved it.

Chocolate Ganache

Chocolate ganache is the easiest form of frosting and decoration ever! I love it and use it instead of buttercream frosting on cupcakes and in between layers of cakes. I found a great recipe on Allrecipes.

Tip #12: Put your phone in a ziploc bag when at the beach

It is summer and most people enjoy cooling off at the pool, lake or seaside. But anywhere near the water there is a risk of getting your belongings wet. Most beach equipment is made to be in the water, but not our phones.

This is the easiest way to protect not only your phones but other electronic devices, like iPods, as well. The ziploc bag protects your phone not only from water, but from sand as well, and the touchscreen still works.

How to make a hair elastic organizer

I have three sisters, and with no surprise we have a LOT of hair elastics. So I decided to make a hair organizer, where I can put all of the elastics for regular ponytails, because they are they fit perfectly onto toilet paper rolls.

Walnut crescent cookies

My mom's favourite cookies are these egg-free walnut crescent cookies. They are EXTREMELY easy to make, I would consider the hardest part shaping the dough into crescents.
